  • “Seeing Toshi live is the ONLY way to really know but here… have a taste!” Check out This is Toshi Reagon on YouTube.

In some ways, singer Toshi Reagon is a throwback to classic R & B artists, like Stevie Wonder or Prince, or old school rock group like Led Zeppelin; she can take any style, update it, and make it her own with incredible ease. Despite (or because of) her genre-bending, Toshi fits comfortably on a stage at Carnegie Hall, or in a dirty rock club. Toshi is an artist who’s known for energetic performances and a exemplary gift for writing engaging songs that provoke listeners to think and have fun at the same time. http://www.toshireagon.com/   “Oh, that voice…devotees know they’ve born witness to one of the great voices of this generation.”
-Village Voice   “Ms. Reagon’s music originates in her love of mixing things up…[her] vocal style ranges from a dirty blues moan to a gospel shout to an ethereal croon.”
-New York Times   “Anyone who thinks rock is a dead medium need only listen to the music of Toshi Reagon and her almighty band Big Lovely.”

GST) $49.50 & $35.50 (plus FMF and service charges) **RESERVED SEATING **   If comedy is an equal-opportunity offender, Margaret Cho is one of its most democratic, and cutting, practitioners. The Bay Area comedian first came to national attention in the mid-’90s when she became the first Korean-American woman with her own sitcom, All-American Girl. When the network cancelled the show, Margaret took what could have been a major career setback and used it to hone her stand-up act with I’m the One That I Want, a show that was both empowering and hysterically funny. Subsequent tours like Notorious C.H.O., Revolution, the politically charged, Bush-skewering State of Emergency, and Assassin, along with more concert films, further solidified a tremendous fanbase that cuts across gender, orientation, and racial lines. Beautiful, her latest tour, marks Margaret’s first stand-up tour since 2005. With her biting wit and fearlessness, Margaret has become one of the most successful comedians working today-and all on her own terms. Thanks to her outspokenness, she is also the recipient of numerous awards, including Best Comedy Performance Award at the 2007 Asian Excellence Awards, a First Amendment Award from ACLU, an Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women. GLAAD, American Women in Radio and Television, and many more organizations have honoured this remarkable performer.      girlgig productions girlgigs@yahoo.com
