“We had our first meeting last Sunday, and it was a success. We talked through lots of ideas on what kinds of activities we want to do and the way we want to see W Group evolve. Our goal is to develop a non-exclusive, non-judgmental, welcoming community. For the first few months at least, we’ll probably determine our activities on a week-by-week basis. We’ll still meet the first 3 Sundays of the month from 7-9ish PM, and the first Sunday will be at 610-1033 Davie. Other meetings will take place there as well, but be sure to contact us via e-mail or check our online calendar to confirm locations on alternate Sundays. If you to receive weekly e-mails from us, please sign up to be a member of our yahoo group www.groups.yahoo.com/group/whangdoodle/ After this week, e-mails will be going out only to the list maintained through the yahoo group site. If you’d prefer not to get the e-mails, you can also visit this site as a non-member, and our weekly bulletin will be posted for general viewing. This is also where you can access our calendar. We’ll post locations and details for our weekly meetings as well as queer related activities throughout the week that one or more of us will be attending (others are welcome to come along.) We’ve got our links section up and running, but we’re always looking for more events, hang-outs, resources, etc., so please feel free to e-mail us with comments and additions. If you want to invite other W Group members to an event, just send us an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll include it in the bulletin and the calendar. Please let us know how we can continue to get the word out. If you know others who might be interested, please pass on our e-mail address and website. We’re also in the process of establishing an extension on the Xtra West Community Directory so people without e-mail access can contact us by phone.”
