Eleanor O’Brien returns to Vancouver with her latest comedy, a dystopian/utopian vision of a future where female pleasure is prioritized. Set in 2035, Plan V: The Rise of Reverence sparkles with bold feminist imagination: an underground gathering honors the sharing stories and information as an antidote to shame and resistance to fascism. O’Brien transforms into a dozen vivid characters—from a southern spiritual leader to a Scottish cunnilingus evangelist, as she preaches the gospel of body sovereignty.

Is it a sex cult? A Utopian Fallopian Fantasy? Or… an ancient religion ripe for revival?

From the creator of Lust & Marriage, GGG:Dominatrix for Dummies and Inviting Desire comes a multimedia theatrical experience that transforms reverence into revolution, suggesting that in our divided world, pleasure activism might be humanity’s unexpected salvation.

Eleanor O’Brien is the writer, performer and 20 year artistic director of Dance Naked Creative,  a Portland, OR based company known for provocative, sex-positive theater. She premiered her first solo show GGG: Dominatrix for Dummies (Quite remarkable bit of theatre…it’s a captivating, wholly uplifting experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐-Edmonton Sun) on the Canadian Fringe circuit in 2005, which (eventually!) proved to be a smash hit on the fringe circuit.

She returned to Canada in 2009 with her ensemble production Inviting Desire (If you’re looking for the sexiest show at the Fringe, this may well be it -CBC) and again in 2015 with the solo show Lust & Marriage (It is just so damn refreshing to see a sex show with its big girl pants on. See this show! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- CBC).

She was on tour with her solo show How to Really, Really? Really! Love A Woman (Funny, empowering, and just slightly terrifying all at once- Broadway World) when Covid hit. She pivoted to creating Zoom theater (The Cult of Cunnilingus, Plan V:Acts of Activism) during the pandemic, learning to incorporate multi-media into her theatrical productions.

O’Brien has teamed up with director & designer Nate Jensen (animator for Scanner Darkly, Apollo 10 ½, Waking Life) to create an experiential hybrid between an adults only zoom room confessional and a holy roller tent revival. It’s a high energy comedy that encourages the audience to relish the fact that pleasure is a GIFT. Hallelujah!

Together their  bold, boundary-pushing work has earned international acclaim at as far as the the Edinburgh Fringe  and London’s Vagina Museum. Their joy-filled, profound productions have encouraged real life chapters of Plan V to spring up around the world (coming soon to Vancouver!) Visit PlanVTheMovement.com for more information.
